SUSTAINABILITY : LITTLE INITIATIVES ADD UP TO BIG CHANGE!
Sustainability is fundamentally important to our catering company and as a team, we take a lot of pride in all of the little things that we do together to help us to be kinder to our environment. We begin with careful and meticulous planning of our menus to avoid food waste by using the freshest fruit and veggies handpicked from the Epping Markets, and taking advantage of what’s seasonally available. Over our 38 years in business, we’ve also built close relationships with our suppliers who continually offer us the best ethically produced produce, meaning good sustainability practices from the farm to the plate! We have removed plastic cling wrap from our kitchen. As a result your food is now delivered, wrapped in a Biodegradable product which 100% recyclable and 100% biodegradable in landfill. Click HERE to see how it works. We both believe if single-use plastics must be used then they should be made to be recyclable and biodegrade.

>actively composting and recycling.
> using non toxic alternatives in place of commercial grade cleaning products in our kitchens.
> eliminating non-recyclable packaging and protective materials and instead, delivering our delicious catering on reusable platters. Choose melamine platter when you place your order.
> using tree free cups, plates and cutlery made from environmentally conscious materials like, sugarcane pulp, bamboo and corn.Moving away from single use plastics makes room for organic and compostable products. Creating a circular economy in which no organics are left to waste.
Sustainability is a daily practice for our company and with each small initiative and every order, together we can make a huge difference!
IN THE COMMUNITY
The Catering Company has long standing relationships with several charitable organisations right here in Melbourne. Recently TCC proudly sponsored the catered lunch for Girls Day Out, an event at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The patients and the careers of the centre enjoyed a day of pampering with the support and generosity of local products and services.
Whether its providing healthy, nutritious meals to their hardworking staff, or donating our time, money and efforts to their individual causes, we are always looking for new opportunities to get involved in our community.
MY ROOM
MY ROOM and The Catering Company have been working together for the past 15 years.
MY ROOM is a volunteer – led group of passionate and dedicated people raising funds to improve the outcome for all children diagnosed with cancer in Victoria and, nationally. MY ROOM funds clinical trials, laboratory research, clinical care and family support to all families of young children diagnosed with cancer in Victoria.

Tea Tonic teas are fun, clever and are designed to rejuvenate, relax and nourish on a cellular level and stimulate the whole body. To add to that, they are free from fertilisers, herbicides, pesticides and drenches and are certified organic. So you can drink your tea with integrity!
We made the choice to switch to plant based, compostable and biodegradable packaging products through the Tree Free. Co. Made from sugar cane pulp, they’ve allowed us to ditch a huge amount of plastic and give back to the earth what we take.
